What the surgery involves
Upper blepharoplasty corrects hooded eyelids by removing the excess skin and, where needed, a small amount of fat. The incision is placed in the natural crease of the eyelid, so the scar is as inconspicuous as possible. It is carried out under local anaesthetic, takes about 60 to 90 minutes, and you go home the same day.

It is done under local anaesthetic and there is very little pain. Afterwards there can be mild discomfort, controlled with the medication we prescribe.
Generally seven to ten days, over which the swelling and any bruising settle. Some swelling can persist for ten to fourteen days — worth knowing if you are booking around an event.
The incision sits in the natural crease of the upper eyelid, so the scar is discreet and becomes hard to see over time. It settles fully over two to six months.
